Ett filmtips om imperialism och motstånd

Ken Loachs senaste film Frihetens pris (The Wind That Shakes The Barley) som fick årets Guldpalm i Cannes och handlar om det irländska inbördeskriget visar på behovet av gemensamma mål i sociala rörelser, det räcker inte med gemensamma motståndare. I Frihetens pris leder det till konflikt mellan de som nöjde sig med en nominell nationell frihet från London och de som i Connollys anda ville bygga ett nytt samhälle, en socialistisk republik. Hur som helst en sevärd film om en inte allt för avlägsen tid då imperialismen härjade i Västeuropa.
