Thanks for your great ongoing coverage of the American left- you have a knack for picking out the more interesting and significant trends and events. Dellums' victory is crucial, though he faces a very tough challenge. Oakland is a poor city wracked by violence and deindustrialization- though it borders two very affluent communities: Berkeley and San Francisco. It will be interesting to see what happens.
